2023 NFL Coach of the Year Picks and Predictions

Where to begin, as there is a ton of value out there now. The two favorites are good starting points, but the Detroit surge is expected whereas Denver is playing from the bottom up. Sean Payton of the two is the better play. However, AFC West coaches might be a tough sell with the Chiefs keeping the other clubs at bay. 

Better value lies with Mike Tomlin, who many expected to see Pittsburgh near the bottom but ended up winning nine games. There is also great value with terrific coaches in Nick Sirianni, Andy Reid and John Harbaugh but the best value is Doug Pederson at +2200. He is in a very winnable division and coaching a team many expect to uptick, including books who see Jacksonville’s win total at 11.5.

NFL Coach of the Year Winner History 

The AFC has seen a winner in this market for three of the last four seasons, but the last two-time winner was Ron Rivera back in 2015. There are only two active coaches who have won this award twice, one being Rivera (2013, 2015) and the other being Bill Belichick (2003, 2007, 2010).
