The 2023 MLB Rookie of the Year market is an interesting one to say the least, as what qualifies an MLB can be confusing for many. A good example is watching Randy Arozarena perform marvelously in the MLB Playoffs, only to be considered a ‘rookie’ the following year.
The AL has seen an outfielder win this award four straight years and five of the last six. The Seattle Mariners have actually produced two of the last three Rookie of the Year winners with Kyle Lewis and Julio Rodriguez. The NL has been less consistent, beside the Atlanta Braves seeing two winners over the last five seasons with Ronald Acuna, Jr. and Michael Harris.
Odds for the 2023 MLB NL and AL Rookie of the Year are no longer available, with Corbin Carroll of the Arizona Diamondbacks closing the market as the favorite in the NL and Gunnar Henderson of the Baltimore Orioles closing as the favorite for the AL.
2023 MLB Rookie of the Year Picks and Predictions
Masataka Yoshida has been a consistent source of hits, recording a hit in 18 of his last 19 games when facing the American League as of this writing. He is nearly minus-value and playing in a large market like Boston indicates he will be there soon if he continues this production. Take him now before it's too late.
- Masataka Yoshida +125 - Jun. 5, 2023
- Josh Jung +220 - Jun. 12, 2023
2023 MLB Rookie of the Year Winner History
Batting average doesn’t seem to matter too much for the NL winners in this market, as Pete Alonso and Jonathan India batted .269 or less - while Cody Bellinger hit .267 in his 2017 campaign. There is a common trend in the NL though, and its run scorers. Michael Harris, Jonathan India, Ronald Acuna Jr., Corey Seager and even Cody Bellinger not only hit runs in, but they also scored runs themselves.
